Upcoming Litters

Litter Due May 12, 2007

MacE x Emma

Ch. Amethyst's Sparkling MacEdan, SH, RN, CGC, TDI
Tri-Sett Lady Leah Sevenoaks (both majors - 13 points)

MacE is a dog bred by Peggy DaValt and Greg DaValt out of Ch. Glen Oaks' Firedance o' Amethyst (Fire) x BIS Puppy Ch. Clansmen 'n' Amethyst Hi Ground (Asti). MacE is owned and trained by Ron and Gwen Pfeil (Alainn Gordon Setters). MacE finished his SH and the next weekend turned around and earned his first leg of his Master Hunter title. He currently has 3 legs of the 5 required for that title. At Amethyst, we're very proud of his accomplishments. Emma has both her majors in somewhat limited showing. She has a son out of Ch. Shojin's Somewhere in Time (Dude) who is pointed. She produces puppies of substance and bird hunting abilities. Puppies expected in Spring/Summer of 2007.

Litter Planned for Fall of 2007

Kismet x Keno

Amethyst's Don't Give Up On Me (Kismet) (major pointed)
Amethyst Wager o' Ember (Keno) (both majors 14 points)

Planned for the Fall of 2007, is the breeding of our Keno (Amethyst's Wager O' Ember) to Kismet (Amethyst's Don't Give up on me).  Last year's breeding of Keno to Kismet produced some wonderful pups, a couple of them are already leaving their mark in the show ring. Congratulations to "Amethyst's Sooner or Later A Martini" (Sooner) on your Best in Sweeps win up in St Paul, MN this winter and another congratulations to "Amethyst's Angel of Hope" (Bella) on your Best of Breed Puppy win at the International Dog Show in Kajaani Finland. We look to this breeding to produce breed type, movement and personality.  In doing this breeding, the Amethyst line will be solidified but incorporating the unique traits of the British Gordons and some of the old MacAlder/Gordon Hill/Glen Oak.  We expect lovely headpieces, great movement and overall superb temperaments..

Litter Planned for Fall 2007

Coal x Asti

Ch. Amethyst's Black 'n Time, JH (Coal)
BIS Puppy Ch. Clansmen 'n' Amethyst Hi Ground (Asti)

Coal was the #14 Gordon in 2005-2006 to qualify for the Eukanuba Tournament in Tampa, FL in January 2006. He was shown on a limited basis as he lived with Peggy DaValt in the spring of 2005. He also earned his Junior Hunter title, handled by Ron Pfeil (Alainn). Coal is a dynamite hunter and enjoys his winters hunting and training with his owner, Bob Bertram. Coal is a son of Am/Can/Mex Ch. MacAlder Best For Shojin (Chipper) the #1 Gordon in 1983. Coal is a full brother to Twister. Asti is our Best in Show Puppy from a show in Oshkosh, WI. She easily finished her championship. She is the mom of Ch. Amethyst's Sparkling MacEdan, SH, RN, CGC, TDI who just needs 2 legs yet for his Master Hunter title. Wonderful show prospects, hunting companions and all-around sweet Gordons are expected. Puppies expected in Fall of 2007.

All litters posted here are whelped and raised at Amethyst Kennels in Oklahoma by Greg and Donna DaValt.  We work together with our partner, Peggy DaValt who owns Amethyst Gordon Setters in Wisconsin. Additional information on Gordon Setters can be found on her web site at www.gorsetr.com
